In the last few days, war rhetoric has gone quite over the top in Europe, making it seem as though the decision has been made at some level, in some smoke-filled room, that Europe will be going to war against Russia. As Mr. Pompous, Jacob Rees-Mogg put it:
“… If we face a war, we will need people who will join the armed services and who will go out and do their duty. We may even face circumstances where people have to die to save their country…”
The rhetoric, at least in the mainstream, has turned to outright jingoism, discussing the war as an inevitability and advising the populations to prepare while encouraging (or coercing) young men to enlist. At the same time, the actual preparations for war are accelerating, especially along Russia’s western frontier.
War preparations are in earnest now
Finland and Estonia both declared their readiness to host NATO nuclear weapons facilities. Finland has gone as far as removing the legal obstacles which barred stationing of nuclear weapons on Finnish territory. Latvia and Lithuania are enhancing their civil-defense and national resilience preparations, including the construction of border fortifications and reinforcing military positions.
Meanwhile, Poland is building its own “Eastern Shield” fortifications in addition to hosting NATO nuclear weapons, raising a 500,000 troops-strong army, and training as many as 100,000 reservists annually. Preparations to enlist all adult men are being planned. Germany is implementing a program to register all young men for military service and preparing to move hundreds of thousands of NATO troops and military equipment eastward.
Denmark has extended its military service from four to eleven months and is enhancing its military conscription program to include women. Sweden is isntructing its citizens to prepare for blackouts, air attacks and possible invasion. Similar preparations are ongoing in France, advising citizens to build up emergency food and water supplies. Months ago, French hospitals have started a program to prepare to treat thousands of wounded soldiers.
According to some reports, France is already on the war footing and President Emmanuel Macron has been busy presenting this inevitability to his constituents. Allegedly, he summoned France’s party leaders to inform them that the war with Russia is here, pointing to recent acts of sabotage across Europe which, as we know, were all orchestrated by the Russians. They even left their passport behind in one case. What more evidence do we need that the Russians, who hate us for our freedoms, are coming!
All this and more is being propagated across the EU, which is now advising its 450 million citizens to maintain at least 72 hours’ worth of food, water, medicines, cash and emergency supplies, because the Russians are coming. That’s the same Russians, by the way, who are losing in Ukraine, and whose military, economy and society are all coming apart at the seams.
Across the channel, Britain is also dusting off its government “War Books,” beefing up production of ammunition and drones and actively preparing national home-defense exercises. The fortunate former members of British armed services up to the age of 65 could qualify to do their “duty” and die for the king and country as well. All the while, the British media are doing their part, dutifully informing their fellow citizens that the Russians are coming:
In just one week, more than 250 articles have been published about the supposed threat from Russia, which is remarkable! They couldn’t all be wrong, could they? Like that time they sold us the pandemic and the safe-and-effectives..?
Wanted: a galvanizing event to get things going…
Not so long ago, Europe’s leaders were talking about war against Russia coming in 2029 or 2030, but now it seems that this timeline has been moved up quite a bit, perhaps only a matter of some unexpected surprise needed to induce the necessary mass formation psychosis for men across Europe to step up and enlist to do their duty. To be sure, Mr. Rees-Mogg and his children won’t be among them, but many ordinary Europeans won’t be offered a different choice.
I’ve written here before that a false-flag event could be in the making, but thus far nothing came of it. For some reason however, Ukrainian journalist Dmytro Gordon, who is very close to Volodymyr Zelensky, thought he’d share this jewel with the public:
“This I know for sure: literally with days something will happen that will give us great hope. Let me say this … Right know I’m talking about what I know. I can’t say what it’ll be because it’s a military secret, but I know that in the coming days - well within a week or two weeks at most, something will happen that will give the nation wings. I know this.”
Well, I can think of very few things that could give a nation wings, but in this case the explanation is quite obvious. Unless Mr. Gordon was just drawing attention to himself, and there substance to what he is saying, then the “something” he is referring to would be exactly an event that would galvanize Ukraine’s Western supporters and sponsors to mobilize their unwilling populations to finally rise up and do their “duty.”
It’s not the Russians, but a different emergency
Meanwhile, nothing much changed on the other side. Russian President, Mr. Vladimir Putin addressed the European peoples on multiple occasions, and repeatedly stated that Russia is not their enemy and that they have no intention of attacking anyone. Now of course, he could be lying to catch us all off guard, but if Russia was preparing to invade Europe, such preparations could not be concealed - there would be evidence for it, and normal diplomatic protocol would entail calling Russia to account and asking them to explain the preparations.
But it seems that such evidence exists only in the minds of those individuals in smoke-filled rooms who already decided that Europe must go to war. Their reasons probably have less to do with the Russians than they have to do with this picture:
