Subversion and demoralization of the West

Last month, professor David Betz gave an interview to Louise Perry warning that British society is now "explosively configured" to descend into a civil war within the next five years. The polarization is being caused by the "destruction of legitimacy" of the government through its dual standard justice system, open borders policy and their inability to protect children from grooming gangs. We could add to this the financial and economic crisis which has plunged a large segment of the society into poverty. Betz described himself as "a classic member of the establishment," and explains the worsening situation as failures of successive governments, but there are reasons to suspect that the present conditions were created deliberately.

Parts of this 1985 conversation aged exceptionally well.

However, the significance of what professor Betz is describing isn't limited to British society - it seems to be pervasive across the Western world. In 1985, American author G. Edward Griffin interviewed KGB defector Yuri Bezmenov (YB) who explained how the process of subversion and demoralization is carried out, not as a result of errors or incompetence, but by deliberate action. The process is in fact, overt and open using "ideological subversion (active measures) aimed at changing the perception of reality to such an extent that people become unable to come to sensible conclusions about issues affecting their families, community or country. This process unfolds in four distinct phases:

  1. DEMORALIZATION: YB explains that it takes 15 to 20 years to demoralize a nation; this is the time needed to educate one generation of students. In that time, intelligence agencies gather extensive information about the people who are instrumental in forming public opinion - publishers, scholars, editors, journalists, celebrities, educators, businessmen and politicians. Among these, they identify "recruitable" people - those who can look you in the eyes and tell you a lie; those who suffer from the complex of self-importance, etc. "Exposure to true information does not matter any more ... a person who is demoralized is unable to asses true information; facts tell nothing to him." YB stated that, "America is basically stuck with demoralization ... even if you started now to undo this, it would take 15 to 20 years to reverse this" and bring social perceptions to normality and patriotism.

  2. DESTABILIZATION: it takes 2 to 5 years to destabilize a nation; subversion is focused on three essential systems: economy, foreign relations and defense systems

  3. CRISIS: it may take as little as six weeks to plunge a nation into a crisis

  4. NORMALIZATION: this phase can last infinitely. it ensures that the changes in society remain permanent.

The monolithic and ruthless conspiracy

"Americans think they are living in peace," said Bezmenov: "False! They are living at war: a total, undeclared war against the basic principles and foundations of this system. The initiator of this war is a system - the global communist system, or the world communist conspiracy." He warned further that there must be a very strong national effort to educate the American people in the spirit of real patriotism.

Much about what Yuri Bezmenov and professor Betz discuss sounds not only plausible, it feels distinctly real, based on the lived experience of the last few decades in the Western world. For example, the quality and moral character of many of our top leaders, experts, and celebrities could be explained by what YB suggests: that many of them were recruited exactly because of their flawed characters. But without enumerating all the many ways our societies have deteriorated, it is clear that what we regard as "liberal democracies" have had a robust tendency to deliver many things that ordinary people don't desire, or even abhor, while consistently failing to deliver what people positively do desire.

Furthermore, in spite of the extraordinary technological advances and spectacular growth in productivity, somehow our living standards have been deteriorating, not rising. None of that can be explained away by the incompetence of our governments: it really seems that, as YB said, that the enemy is "a system." Bezmenov called it the "world communist conspiracy" and in that he might have been referring to the same thing that JFK called "a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy."

Not so fast…

By today, it is clear that our societies may have been blighted by these conspiracies, but they never completely succumbed. This may be due to changes that neither JFK nor Bezmenov could have foreseen. With the rise of the internet and social media, we are no longer locked into official narratives broadcast by the "recruitables" in the mainstream media. Today, their readership and viewership has fallen precipitously and that "strong national effort to educate" people has self-organized from the bottom up in ways that entirely changed the social engineering calculus to such an extent that the outcome might end up radically different from what Bezmenov suggested and what the conspirators intended. Hollywood and the celebrity dazzle factor have largely faded, and people aren't as impressed by "expert" classes as they once were.

The result has been a "political awakening" of masses which has become a huge problem for the ruling establishments. Zbigniew Brzezinski complained about this a few years back and said that it has become a lot easier to kill a million people than to control them.

Why would anyone…?

The objections to all this from "coincidence theorists," stem from disbelief: this is terrible stuff, why would anyone do such things? We may not know the answer to that question, but it's plausible that the idea of exercising total control over the people and holding them permanently in subjugation appeals to some individuals. In fact, a lot of what has been explicitly formulated and published under World Economic Forum's "Great Reset" suggests that this is their general idea.

The justification seems to be an urgent need to save the planet from this or that danger posed to it by humans. Well, if you fancy yourself as the savior of the planet, a lot of things become justifiable. The solutions, apparently involve changing what it means to be human and turning us into a herd of "hackable animals." The idea that we are God's creation, divine beings with immutable souls - that's over! So said WEF's chief advisor Yual Noah Harari. Thankfully, Harari called that a bit too soon and his dream of turning us into hackable animals will remain a dream, at least for the time being.
