Great article as always. The more I find out about Britain's continuing role in the world's problem areas the more disgusted I am to be British. Although its the ruling elite a fair share of the PMC , not the 90% of the population who just want the country to be better run.

It would be interesting to see the MI6 influence in British media like The Telegraph, where Bolton writes regularly. A crumbling business with its shares in the hands of Lloyds (government owned). When they received an offer from Red Bird, Parliament blocked it for "national security" reasons....

By the way: today it is still publishing pieces claiming that Ukraine is winning the war, and Russia is crumbling. They don't even pretend...

The founding of the Bank of England in 1694 marked a pivotal shift in how wars were financed. Before central banking, wars were often limited by the sovereign’s ability to raise taxes or secure private loans. With the Bank of England, the British government could borrow vast sums by issuing debt, backed by future taxation. This fundamentally changed the scale and frequency of warfare.
